UPDATE!!! The 11:40 flight is full...there is an 8:30 a.m. or a 2:35 p.m. flight from Gisborne to Auckland. Either one will be okay!
You will need to make flight arrangements to Gisborne via Auckland! We are scheduled to be in Gisborne on Sunday, February 7th. There are flights from Auckland to Gisborne pretty much every two hours. After the build, we are scheduled for a cultural event in Auckland February 18th and 19th. So, in making your return flight, try to make the 11:40 a.m. flight on the 18th to Auckland. I'm currently in the process of making preparations with the local affiliate for a hotel and things to do while in Auckland.
While in Gisborne, we will be staying at the Waikanae Beach Holiday Park in self-contained cabins. The park is about a 10 minute walk to the city shopping center and close to the beach which is good for swimming and surfing. Temperatures should range from 26 to 30 Celsius.

Hi Steve, the location looks beautiful, I was reading up on the cabins, will we need to hire our own linens for the beds? Or is it too soon to ask this question?
ReplyDeletegood question Carmen, I was wondering the same thing.
ReplyDeleteJudging from the website it looks like we will have to rent towels and linens unless other arrangements have been made for us. Typically they only supply a pillow and a bottom sheet.
